Our Mission

Vashon Explorers Preschool is a nonprofit preschool dedicated to supporting local children and families through high-quality early childhood education.

LEARN

Our program focuses on kindergarten readiness while also supporting social-emotional growth, independence, and confidence.

PLAY

We believe children learn best through play, exploration, creativity, and hands-on experiences.

EXPLORE

We frequently take opportunities to explore outside the classroom. Some activities we’ve been able to do include:

Who we are

As long-time Vashon Island residents raising their own families here, Ashlea and Lisa understand the unique needs of local families and the importance of creating nurturing, play-based learning environments. They combine play-based learning with guided educational activities to create a balanced and engaging preschool experience.

  • We welcome children ages 2.5-6 in a nurturing, mixed-age preschool environment. 

  • Yes! We incorporate early literacy, math, science, fine motor skills, circle time, art, and structured learning activities to prepare children for kindergarten in a fun, developmentally appropriate way.

  • We focus on creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment where children feel valued and supported in a multiage classroom. Our small community atmosphere allows us to build strong relationships with both children and families and set children up for success with a strong Pre-K program.
